PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION
The primary purpose of the qualification is to provide qualifying learners with the skills and knowledge necessary to become competent secretaries.

What Will You Learn?

  • 1. Typequick or Typing II
  • The ability to type 55 words per minute.
  • 2. MS Office Suite
  • Knowledge of Windows, Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
  • 3. Secretarial Office Techniques II
  • 3.1 Demonstrate knowledge of setting up an office.
  • 3.2 Knowledge of communication in the organization is demonstrated.
  • 3.3 Demonstrate administrative skills.
  • 4. Business Communication:
  • The competent learner can understand and apply the principles, concepts and strategies of communication.
  • 5. Management
  • 5.1 List the main steps to be taken when establishing a business and the different possible forms of ownership.
  • 5.2 Distinguish between the major differences between profit and non-profit making undertakings.
  • 5.3 Provide an overview of the basic principles of management.
  • 6. One of the following:
  • 6.1 Accounting
  • 6.1.1 Interpret and create financial accounting documents.
  • 6.1.2 Reconcile Bank and Creditors.

  • Knowledge of the role of the personnel manager in an organisation is demonstrated.
